We don't have any more information about this exhibition yet, but I was wondering if this exhibition of Magne's in May is going to be part of Paul Stolper's new series of shows which was announced in one of his latest newsletters:
"Curated by Paul Stolper and composer Adrian Corker, 'The Silence Between' invites artists whose works use sound to involve and include the space between the gallery's usual scheduled shows. The works will cover a range of different disciplines from installation, to sculpture and performance. Artists will include Jem Finer, Richard Skelton, Dawn Scarfe, Liminal and Rie Nakajima.
The 'Silence Between' will comprise a number of shows over twelve months, culminating in a group show of all exhibited artists and a published edition. The first show opens on 14 February with Jem Finer's sculpture 'Spiegelei Junior' shown alongside Jerwood Drawing Prize-winner Mit Senoj's drawings."
(you can follow @thesilencebtwn on Twitter for updates apparently)
This is just a guess however, but Magne did also say in the same article that 'I’m also working on some interesting projects that will combine music and visual arts in new ways for me.' Sounds interesting!
In keeping with my usual 'hear about something happening somewhere else and start thinking about how to get there' outlook, I've already started trying to figure out if I will have enough vacation time available in May to take a long weekend to travel. Some of the usual suspects are already talking about organizing a meetup around whatever it is Magne has planned, and I love any excuse to go to London and see everyone, so I hope it works out.
But then if Apparatjik has a gig somewhere, I would probably do that if it came down to a choice (which it probably will, given my meagre vacation accrual rate). I wish I had more information so I could make the best choice, it was so disappointing to have to miss Roskilde and Oslo last year, but I had the fan party weekend so I guess I shouldn't complain! ;-)
